Many Leicester fans are saying on Twitter that Turkish defender Caglar Soyuncu is better than the man he replaced in Harry Maguire.
The Foxes have gotten off to a flying start in the Premier League, sitting third in the league after four games, with Soyuncu starting every league game at centre-half this campaign.
The Leicester Twitter account posted a video of the defender showing excellent skill versus Bournemouth, turning and beating attackers while in his own third and sending a few slick passes.
Soyuncu was bought by the club in the summer of 2018 from Freiburg for a sum believed to be around £19m, which may have seemed like a lot of money at the time for a player who didn’t feature a lot in his first season (via Transfermarkt). However, the money paid then now looks to be very shrewd as Leicester have not been forced to reinvest the £80m they received for Maguire.
Leicester fans can’t get enough of the 23-year-old at the moment, and that was reflected in fan responses to the video.
Here are some of the replies…
Big statement * but I actually think he’s better on the ball than Maguire! ….
80M & Cags stepping in like he has is super business from #lcfc https://t.co/7pVf6nsJPt— Matt Piper (@_mattpiper) September 1, 2019
He’s a better player than Maguire.

Can't argue with that. £85M in the bank and an improved defence.

Still early, but I'm inclined to agree. Backs himself to get out of any situation – executes with style, too.

You called it several weeks back on the football forum. Give @Syncaglar a chance, accept he'll make some mistakes but in a year time he'll be a top player.
