Leicester City: Fans react to Caglar Soyuncu’s audacious skill in own box

Many Leicester City fans can’t hold back their appreciation for defender Caglar Soyuncu after the club released a video of the defender dribbling his way out of trouble against Tottenham.

The defender was in his own box and was getting pressed heavily by Spurs, but the Turkey international got out of trouble by using nothing but his own dribbling ability, making £53.8m signing Tanguy Ndombele hit the canvas in the process.

As you can see from the video below, he initially turns Ndombele before calmly getting away from Son Heung-min and passing the ball on to Ben Chilwell at left-back.

Unsurprisingly, fans were delighted with what they saw from the Leicester defender and the Harry Maguire comparisons have not been put on ice, with many saying that they are much happier with their new defender.

Maguire was sold to Manchester United in a world-record deal (£80m; The Guardian) for a defender in the summer, while Soyuncu was brought to the club last summer for just £19m from Freiburg. Indeed, with Soyuncu costing merely a quarter of the price, many fans look more than happy with their business.
