Leicester City: Fans remember classic trip to Seville

Share

Many Leicester City fans have discussed a memorable away day after a fan account on Twitter posted about their evening out in Seville.

The season after their Premier League win, Leicester were rewarded with their first-ever appearance in the Champions League – and that included their round-of-16 tie against Sevilla.

While they lost the game 2-1, Jamie Vardy’s second-half goal when they were 2-0 down made it feel like a better result than that, as the away goal gave them real hope going back to the King Power.

Pablo Sarabia gave the hosts the lead after a powerful header in the 25th minute, before it began to look nightmarish for the Foxes as Joaquin Correa made it two for the La Liga side.

Jamie Vardy pulled one back after a great ball from Danny Drinkwater, but the hero of the night would have to be Kasper Schmeichel for Leicester, after pulling off a spate of saves as well as a penalty stop.
