According to ESPNFC, Leicester City are in talks to sign Nigerian youngster Wilfred Ndidi in January, with our Foxes fans here in the Transfer Tavern hoping he can help kick-start their campaign.
Whilst the current Premier League champions have impressed in the Champions League this season they have largely flopped in their title defence and are closer than they’d want to be to the relegation zone at the moment.
Claudio Ranieri’s men lost against Watford over the weekend and whilst no-one expected them to realistically lift the title again this season, many thought they’d put up a better fight than this.
The Italian manager clearly feels reinforcements are needed, then, and evidently thinks that Ndidi could be the one to help their cause.
The Genk man can play in either central midfield or in defence and has impressed to the point where the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham have all been linked with securing his services.
It appears, though, that it’s the Foxes who have got into the front seats ahead of that illustrious company and we could be about to see the teenager in the Premier League from January.
