Many Leicester City fans have been left to slam the news from Sky Sports that only local residents will be able to attend their FA Cup semi-final.
As per the news outlet, as many as 4,000 local residents will be able to attend the game at Wembley Stadium between the East Midlands club and Southampton on April 18th.
Will Leicester win the FA Cup?
The match is being run as a test event for the return of crowds once the lockdown restrictions are eased, but the Foxes are not permitted to allow their own supporters to attend, unless they live local to Wembley.
This probes a question as to how many LCFC fans are living in the local area, which is likely not to be many at all, and so the ground is likely to be more made up of neutral fans instead.
Leicester fans on FA Cup update
These Leicester fans slammed the update on Twitter, with one supporter even going as far as to claim that it was an ‘absolute disgrace’:
“Is this an April Fools?”
“Is this an April Fools joke?”
“An absolute disgrace”
“LET US IN NOT NEUTRALS YOU FRAUDS WE HAVEN’T GOT HERE IN 39 YEARS”
“So a bunch of Arsenal and Spurs fans go and watch Leicester vs Southampton and Leicester fans can’t”
“Such a pointless “test event”. I wonder if a 90,000 seater stadium can cope with 4,000 fans who won’t have to travel”
