Our punters here at the Transfer Tavern are beginning to sense that the January transfer window is getting closer and closer, with rumours regarding Winter moves beginning to move in thick and fast.
Today, the attention turns to Leicester City, who have made a brilliant start this season under Claudio Ranieri. One thing Leicester haven’t struggled with this season is goals.
Nevertheless, the Mirror are reporting that Ranieri is looking to bolster his striking options and bring in Ajax and Poland forward, Arkadiuz Milik.
Milik, who is only 21-years-old, scored 17 goals in 32 appearances for Ajax last season, while on-loan from Bayer Leverkusen, and it appears this form is starting to attract the English clubs.
Milik was also highly impressive on the international stage for Poland, contributing six goals and six assists to their qualifying campaign, striking up an excellent partnership with Robert Lewandowski in the process.
It appears that Ranieri is looking to provide more competition to his current striking quartet of Leonardo Ulloa, Andrej Kramaric, Shinji Okazaki and of course the Premier League top scorer, Jamie Vardy.
Foxes fans, however, will be hoping that the move for Milik is only as bolstering their attacking forces, not as a replacement for Vardy, who looks set to be the subject of several bids in the near future.
