Leicester City are reportedly eyeing up a transfer move to sign Naby Keita from Liverpool, according to Football Insider.
As per the news outlet, the East Midlands club are keeping tabs on his current situation at Anfield ahead of the summer transfer window.
A recruitment source has told the publication that the Foxes would be interested in signing the central midfield player if he were to become available.
Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a ‘big admirer’ of his ‘energy’ and ‘quality on the ball’, and the Reds currently value him at £30m, a big cut on the £52.5m that they originally paid to sign him from RB Leipzig back in 2018.
Leicester should sign Keita
Given that Keita is 26 years of age and still has his best years ahead of him, £30m is a snip for the Guinea international in today’s market, especially given that Transfermarkt currently value him at £34.2m.
He can still be ‘world-class’ on his day as well, as his own teammate and renowned star player Virgil Van Dijk claimed back in July 2020 after Jurgen Klopp’s team won the 2019/20 Premier League title.
Should Leicester sign Keita?
Having gained that extra experience of playing in the top flight and helping in winning the title, Keita would have no problems whatsoever in adapting to the division, and thus could settle in very well at LCFC if he stays injury-free.
