In a recent tweet from @LCFCFoxes_com, Leicester fans were asked to describe Jonny Evans in just one word, and the replies are full of praise for the veteran.
The Midlands outfit bought Evans in 2018 for a fraction of the price they’d previously had rejected from his former side West Brom. The Foxes bid £25million for the Northern Ireland international but the Baggies turned down the offer. To Leicester’s delight, they managed to finally get their hands on Evans’ signature the following summer, for just £3.5m (via BBC Sport).
Evans has been ever-present in Leicester’s 2019/20 Premier League campaign, operating as their stalwart centre-back and contributing to ten clean sheets. The 32-year-old has also bagged himself a goal and two assists this season, as well as a goal in the EFL Cup (via Transfermarkt).
Supporters have been nothing but appreciative of Evans on Twitter, with two fans branding him as a ‘colossus’ and a ‘revelation’. Another fan has claimed he is the ‘bargain of the century’.
Revelation.
