The Foxes had a nightmare start to the Brendan Rodgers’ era in the week. With hopes high of playing some neat football and cutting teams apart under the new regime of the North Irishman, things failed to fall into place as they lost 2-1 at Vicarage Road and lost Jamie Vardy to injury. However, the latest update has confirmed that the striker is fit.

Vardy’s injury certainly wasn’t a textbook one. Rodgers has confirmed that the striker took a knock during the Watford clash after he was subbed off on 83 minutes to be replaced by Kelechi Iheanacho. That knock required the 32-year-old to have stitches in his tongue, and whilst that sounds fairly gruesome, the Foxes have no doubts that their record Premier League goalscorer is raring to go.
This season has seen Vardy struggle somewhat at the King Power Stadium. Despite fan angst that their talisman had fallen out with Claude Puel, the Frenchman denied there being a rift in the squad between himself and Vardy but continued to bench him. This season the striker has already failed to start in four Premier League games, compared to just one game last season, and the Foxes are ready for him to become a much bigger part in the squad now that Puel has gone.

The Foxes are looking forward to getting their first win of the Rodgers era, and will be desperate for Vardy to fire them towards that with a goal or two against Fulham tomorrow.
