Our Leicester City fans here in the Transfer Tavern are hoping to see a brighter second half of this season and are fairly happy with the news that Leonardo Ulloa is set to stay – according to The Sun.
The defending Premier League champions have had nowhere near the campaign they would have liked this year and so now, to pull away from the drop-zone, togetherness and fight in the squad is key.
Certainly, then, it appears Claudio Ranieri wants to keep hold of the Argentine striker this campaign, especially with Islam Slimani set for the Africa Cup of Nations that begins later this month.
The 30-year-old striker has not had the playing time he would have surely liked this season but with the Foxes desperately needing to find some form it’s going to be all hands to the pump right now.
They’ll need Ulloa and his canny knack of grabbing important goals, then, and that might just see him return to the fold for the rest of this year.
Our landlord thinks Leicester are right to keep him on, for now, as they need all the help they can get.
