Adnan Januzaj

Having successfully broken into David Moyes’ United side, Adnan Januzaj was preordained for greatness in the iconic red shirt.

The Belgian made 35 appearances scoring four goals in the 2013/14 season, and many were expecting Januzaj to become a mainstay in the United team for years to come.

Nonetheless, his career has failed to progress as many expected.

Consecutive loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland have failed to reignite the hopes that United once had of the 22-year-old.

In 40 games with both clubs, Januzaj only managed to score a single goal.

He’s also been omitted from Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the United States, an indication that his time as a United player is close to its conclusion.

Guillermo Varela

Despite making 11 first-team appearances for United in the 2015-16 season, it seems that the Uruguayan’s career as a Red Devil is also nearing its completion.

The 24-year-old had an unsuccessful loan spell with Bundesliga side, Frankfurt, last season.

During his time with the German team, Varela only made ten appearances and broke club rules regarding tattoos.

At the age of 24, one would have expected Varela to establish himself as a first-team player by now.

It seems that his days as a Red Devil are numbered, and for the sake of his career he must depart Manchester United this Summer. Otherwise, he’ll continue to regress on the outskirts of Mourinho’s first-team.
