‘Levy I blame you’ - Tottenham fans mixed over controversial figure after last night

The Tottenham fans in the Transfer Tavern are deflated following another disappointing Premier League result last night.

Mauricio Pochettino’s pre-season expectations of mounting a genuine title-challenge were thoroughly justified after narrowly missing out on the league-title last season. However, the club’s 2-1 defeat against Leicester at the King Power Stadium last night has all but forced The Lilywhites to re-evaluate their objectives for the season. Spurs could find themselves 16 points adrift of league-leaders Manchester City after the mid-week fixtures are completed – a margin which surely put’s Pochettino’s title aspirations beyond the realm of possibility.

The main side-story that has followed Tottenham throughout their season so far concerns the future of Danny Rose, who has recently seen his popularity plummet amongst the supporters.

Rose’s reputation plummeted after he made comments in the summer criticising the club’s wage structure and lack of ambition.

Unsurprisingly, Rose’s comments have left a bitter taste in the mouth of the resident Spurs punters propping up our bar.

On the field, Rose stepped up his recovery from a long injury lay-off last night by completing another 90 minutes of football, and his performance certainly divided opinion amongst the supporters on Twitter.

Whilst a handful of the Spurs supporters were impressed with the England left-back’s contribution, the majority appeared to be deeply unimpressed with his overall performance and attitude against Leicester.
