It’s amazing just what another draw has done for the Tottenham Hotspur fans in the Transfer Tavern, who’ve been in lighter spirits of late following their performance in the North London Derby.
Ever since the 1-1 draw at the Emirates, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have seemed to dispell any notion of crisis talk and their unbeaten record in Premier League competition is starting to look an awful lot healthier.
Still, as much as the White Hart Lane faithful are in good spirits while propping up the bar, reports from the Daily Telegraph have come as a blow.
They claim top brass on Hotspur Way and star shot-stopper Hugo Lloris remain worlds apart in their valuations of a contract extension and the Frenchman will reportedly have to remain within Daniel Levy’s wage structure.
While the 29-year-old is understood to be happy with Spurs, he’s thought to be aware he could easily double his £80k-per-week wages should he leave for pastures new.
The former Lyon custodian is believed to have been told Levy will not pay his stars over £100k-per-week and an agreement is said to be reasonably far off right now.
