There was some positive news recently when Newcastle secured one of their most promising young players on a new long-term contract. However, his future at St James’ Park may not be quite as certain as it first appeared.
Lewis Hall Could Still Leave Newcastle
Lewis Hall could still leave Newcastle next summer despite recently committing his future to the club, according to a transfer expert.
The 21-year-old left-back has signed a new contract that is set to keep him at St James’ Park until 2031, underlining how highly he is regarded by the club.
Manchester United were interested in Hall during the summer and were reportedly told that Newcastle had no intention of selling, regardless of the offer.
The new agreement is also expected to make Hall one of Newcastle’s highest-paid players, reflecting his importance to Jaissle. The Magpies boss has described the defender as “very important” to his plans.
However, his new contract does not necessarily guarantee that Hall will remain at Newcastle beyond the 2026-27 season.
Transfer expert Ben Jacobs has suggested to talkSPORT that a summer 2027 departure cannot completely be ruled out, depending on how the campaign develops.
That does not mean Newcastle are actively looking to sell Hall. Instead, his situation could depend on his progress, the club’s ambitions and whether a major offer arrives in the future.
For now, though, the new contract represents a major positive for Newcastle. If Hall continues to develop under Jaissle and remains happy with the project at St James’ Park, the club will hope there is no reason for him to consider an exit.
