Rangers fans here in the Tavern are hoping that their side can challenge for the Scottish Premiership title next season, after failing to give bitter rivals Celtic a run for their money.

Indeed, the Bluenoses lacked consistency towards the end of the current campaign as they almost lost out on European football, but there’s no doubt that their main aim for next season will be to secure the title. However, this could be difficult for the Gers as Celtic continue to assert their dominance, with a major overhaul in the summer possibly being the only option.

Interestingly, Rangers legend Ally McCoist has spelled out how many players the Ibrox side will need this summer, as he believes that they’ll need to splash out on at least four quality stars to challenge Celtic. So, it looks as if the Bluenoses will be busy in the summer transfer window, with many of our local residents expecting to see a new-look Rangers side.

Therefore, Rangers should follow McCoist’s advice and move for these FOUR stars…

Ross McCormack

Ross McCormack has lost his way at Aston Villa in the current campaign as he spent the first half of the season on loan at Melbourne City, where he certainly made a name for himself after scoring bags of goals.

The Scotsman will inevitably leave the Midlands club at the end of the season and could be available for a small price, something that will help Rangers massively as they’ll receive a proven goalscorer.

Therefore, the Bluenoses should look to bring McCormack to Ibrox in the summer transfer window, as the 31-year-old can bring a wealth of experience and a deadly eye for goal.

Dan Burn

The Wigan Athletic defender has been one of the standout performers in League One so far this season, in a central defensive position that has been Rangers’ biggest problem in the current campaign.

Interestingly, Dan Burn used to play for Championship side Fulham but opted to leave back in 2016, and now looks like going on to achieve big things after an eye-opening campaign with the Latics.

Nevertheless, the Gers should look to bring the 25-year-old to Glasgow in the summer transfer window, as a promising defender that has already shown his class against Manchester City this season.

Jordan Rhodes

Indeed, Jordan Rhodes has had a torrid campaign with current club Sheffield Wednesday as a summer exit looks inevitable, after only managing to score on six occasions so far this season as a complete waste of money.

However, there’s no doubt that the 28-year-old can find the back of the net as he often has done throughout his career, but a move to Ibrox could just help him rediscover some form.

So without further ado, Rangers should attempt to sign the former Middlesbrough striker in the summer months, as he may just set the Scottish Premiership alight if he can enjoy a run of games in the side. 

Charlie Adam

Charlie Adam has been one of the most consistent midfielders in the Premier League for quite sometime now, but his current club Stoke City look to be heading for the Championship as the season comes to a close.

Although, this could open the door for Rangers to swoop in for his services in the summer transfer window, as he could provide a wealth of experience and a steady head in the middle of the park.

Therefore, the Bluenoses shouldn’t waste any time in bringing the midfielder to the club, as they’re currently struggling against the bigger teams with Greg Docherty and Sean Goss providing very little experience.
