Liverpool fans in the Football Transfer Tavern feel a mixture of relief and confusion as talkSPORT announced that Raheem Sterling’s contract talks will be put on hold until the summer.
The Reds talisman has the world at his feet and he made Liverpool fans feel very nervy after it was revealed that his contract talks had stalled last week.
The 20-year-old has two years left on his contract but his wage is not a premium package.
And this has led to speculation that he would leave to another club who are not afraid to offer him a huge wage.
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is seemingly passionate to make sure the youngster is not given too much to soon.
“There will be no agreement on Raheem Sterling’s contract between now and end of the season,” Rodgers said. “His representatives have made that clear.”
Liverpool fans here inside the Transfer Tavern are dying for an agreement to be made because they fear the worst if he does leave Anfield!
