As the punters in the Transfer Tavern, from all over the globe, talk about the potential danger the mega-rich Chinese Super League can offer up to Premier League sides, a lot of them are discussing just what another huge spend from Manchester United could do.

The Red Devils are of course linked with a move for Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann, a potential move that could send shockwaves around the landscape of European football. With Jose Mourinho seemingly hell-bent on bringing the glamour back to Old Trafford, the likes of Luke Shaw have also been linked with exits of late.

So, as United look to push on and create one of the most expensive sides in the world, perhaps a number of domestic teams could, in turn, benefit from what could be another hugely expensive outlay.

With that in mind, here’s how both Liverpool and West Ham could benefit from another Man United overhaul.

Liverpool: Luke Shaw available

If reports are to be believed, United will make Luke Shaw available for transfer this summer as he continues to struggle with life under Jose Mourinho. While the idea of United selling to Liverpool is unlikely, Mourinho is a man who allowed Chelsea legend Petr Cech to join bitter rivals Arsenal.

Though James Milner has proved impressive in the left-back berth at Anfield of late, he is surely not a long-term solution to a constant issue on Merseyside. Shaw would be a wonderful addition and Jurgen Klopp may be exactly the right type of boss to coax the best out of him, the sort of form he showed prior to his horrific leg break.

Maybe, just maybe, United would be willing to sell to the Reds.

West Ham: Martial move?

If Griezmann really were to touch down in England, what would become of Anthony Martial? Recent reports suggest United will look to keep Zlatan Ibrahimovic around and it’s not as if the Frenchman is a regular even without his compatriot on the books.

With Marus Rashford widely touted by our punters as the man to lead United forward in the years to come, perhaps West Ham could reignite their reported interest in Martial as they hunt for a marquee marksman to mark their move to the London Stadium.
