The Guardian has Liverpool fans looking up with some interest here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they report the latest on Raheem Sterling’s future.
The Liverpool winger has shelved his contract talks for now and will wait until the end of the season to decide where his future lies, and despite Liverpool and manager Brendan Rodgers trying to pretend they are relaxed about the situation, we can understand why they may be a little bit panicked given the clock is ticking.
Rodgers seemed to lose his temper slightly when pressed for further answers about the winger and snapped: ‘I can’t predict what other people are thinking,
‘The club have received that advice from his adviser and Raheem has mentioned it to me. That’s it.’
We think that Sterling is right to hold out and see just what happens between now and the end of the season – not to mention see if he is able to hold out for some more money.
