Liverpool fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are demanding to hear what the Daily Mail has to say about Steven Gerrard as they seem to think that it will be a long road back to the first team for the skipper.
Gerrard has been out with injury for the last few games and has not only seen his side excel and show that they are at least as good – if not better without him in their side – but has also seen Jordan Henderson take to the captain’s role like a duck to water and we think that Brendan Rodgers is totally right after admitting that Gerrard may not get his place back.
The Liverpool boss spoke about his team over the last couple of games and Gerrard’s return and claimed: ‘To have him back is the most important thing. Let’s see how the season pans out. Steven is one of the best players of all time in the Premier League.’
