Anfield The Football Transfer Tavern is busy this evening after punters enjoyed all of the action on show today.

There are a number of Liverpool supporters congregating around the fruit machine as Charles Perrin from The Express brings some fresh transfer speculation into the bar.

The Reds supporters are told by Perrin that the club are set to increase their efforts to land Argentine striker Luciano Vietto in the summer.

The 20-year-old is being targeted by Brendan Rodgers as part of desire to sign some of the finest talent from across Europe as looks to build the Reds into a major force again.

Vietto first made his mark at Racing Club back in 2011 and it is thought that Real Madrid are keeping tabs on his progress after he was dubbed the ‘new Sergio Aguero’

According to his agent Jorge Cysterpiller the race is hotting up for his signature. He said: “We know that many top clubs are following Vietto.

“There is a lot of competition to sign him. Liverpool we know like him and so do Real Madrid – I think also two German teams

“I think he could move at the end of the European season.”

Rodgers suffered a disappointing January transfer window after failing to land Ukraine international Yevhen Konoplyanka, while they also saw prime transfer target Mohamed Salah snub interest from Anfield to join Chelsea instead.
