Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping Jurgen Klopp lands some exciting signings this summer but they’ve received a blow in their quest to land one promising asset.
TalkSport, reporting via L’Equipe, state Atletico Madrid are rivalling Liverpool in the transfer market for Monaco’s highly-rated winger Thomas Lemar, who could be subject to a transfer worth around £10m this summer.
The 20-year-old, who has been capped by France at U21 level, has enjoyed a tremendous campaign in Ligue 1 this season, scoring five goals and weighing in with three assists for the French prinicipality side.
However, Monaco’s financial situation and they fact they missed out on a group-stage spot in the Champions League next season means the French side are open to doing business if their £10m valuation is met.
