The Liverpool fans in the Transfer Tavern think that their side is going to need far more than just Mo Salah in order to compete next season…
Last season was a successful one for the Reds, but the next term is likely to be far more difficult. Their return to the Champions League comes with a downside, with fixture congestion set to go through the roof and subsequently make Premier League life far more difficult.
As a result, there is a real need for more bodies at Anfield, and whilst Jurgen Klopp has his eye on a few new players, his quest to sign them is going to be far from easy.
According to the Guardian, Liverpool will have to cough up £70 million in order to land target Naby Keita this summer – with current side RB Leipzig hesitant to let the midfielder go on the cheap.
This could, of course, be somewhat of a dealbreaker for Liverpool, though its still unclear just how desperate the club are to sign him. Whilst Keita was a key player for the German outfit last season, he has just one season at the top under his belt, and so that would be a massive outlay for the Reds given the context.
That being said, his quality last year was clear for all to see, and given that Liverpool need to improve their midfield – a move might still make sense.
