Liverpool fans have praised Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn after what he said after the Reds’ 2-1 victory against the Midlands outfit on Saturday.
Is Divock Origi a Liverpool legend?
Yes
No
Goals from Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane meant that Jurgen Klopp’s side took all three points and extended their unbeaten record in the Premier League.
They went behind in the first half from a set-piece that was headed in by Trezeguet after 21 minutes. The Reds were behind until the 87th minute when Mane’s cross found Robertson running in at the far post to score. Liverpool left it late and scored in the 94th minute as Mane’s near-post header was enough to win the game for the visitors and maintain their unbeaten run in the league.
The Reds sit top of the league by six points ahead of last season’s champions Manchester City and will play Pep Guardiola’s side next at Anfield.
Despite his side coming off second best, Villa’s middle man John McGinn had some kind words to say about the way that Liverpool played during the 90 minutes.
Boss. John McGinn on #LFC
“They don’t give up, they keep going. They probably tired us out too much. Chances were coming and we were trying to keep them at bay but the ball keeps coming back. It was two sloppy goals from our point of view but Liverpool just drain you mentally.”
