Liverpool fans found themselves agreeing with former Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure after he believed Sadio Mane should have won this year’s Ballon d’Or award.
Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi walked away with the prize for the sixth time in his career after a scintillating season with the Catalan giants.
Teammate Virgil van Dijk came second in the standings whereas Mane finished 4th behind Cristiano Ronaldo.
Speaking in Doha at the Club World Cup as a guest of FIFA, Toure, the brother of former Reds defender Kolo, made the comparison between Mohamed Salah and Mane and chose the Senegal international. He added that he should have won the elusive France Football gong.
The Ivorian has come up against Mane on multiple occasions, and supporters were quick to agree with what he had to say about the Senegalese star.
