Liverpool: Fans applaud Diogo Jota after PFA award nomination

Many Liverpool fans showered forward Diogo Jota with praise after it was announced he is in the running for the PFA Fans’ Premier League Player of the Month award.

The 24-year-old has been on fire since his £41m move from Wolves, having scored nine goals from his first 17 games in all competitions, which includes five from nine Premier League outings (TransferMarkt).

As a result, the Portugal international was officially nominated for the monthly accolade alongside the likes Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, Sergio Reguilon, Jamie Vardy and James Ward-Prowse.

This asserts the importance of Jota to Jurgen Klopp’s side, with his assistant Pep Ljinders previously describing him as a “pressing monster” after having watched him for some time before the Merseysiders made their move (cited by Empire of the Kop).
