Liverpool: Fans approve of Gini Wijnaldum summer departure

Some Liverpool fans have been reacting in delight to the news that Georginio Wijnaldum could be leaving Anfield this summer.

According to the Mirror, the 30-year-old has allegedly made up his mind and opted to join Barcelona and compatriot Ronald Koeman at the end of the current campaign.

The report added that manager Jurgen Klopp is making last-ditch efforts to keep the Dutchman on Merseyside after many months of speculation regarding his future.

Since his move from Newcastle in 2016, Wijnaldum has scored 21 goals from 211 appearances – two of which came in his side’s unforgettable 4-0 win over Barcelona in 2019.
