The latest report surrounding Liverpool’s summer shopping list has come from James Pearce regarding Bundesliga duo Kai Havertz and Jadon Sancho. The Athletic reporter has claimed that the two are both ‘on the radar’ for the Reds but a hefty price tag might put the club off.
The Merseyside outfit have been heavily linked to several big names over the last few months, with Timo Werner thought to be the main target for the Merseyside outfit (via Liverpool). However, young England international Jadon Sancho is another reportedly on the club’s wishlist, and Kai Havertz has now joined him in transfer talks.
A reported fee for both the youngsters could cost Liverpool in excess of £100 million, which might prove to be an issue in making any sort of bid for the duo.
19-year-old Sancho currently has 17 goals and 19 assists across 35 performances for Dortmund this season and has a price tag of £117 million by himself (via Transfermarkt). Havertz has scored ten goals and assisted eight from midfield for Bayer Leverkusen in this current campaign (also Transfermarkt).
Liverpool fans are divided over the latest report – many are desperate for the deals to get done while others think the case is closed on signing the pair.

So they are not targets then. That line has been trotted out all summer to make us seem ambitious. That is their price tag. It’s not getting lowered so we are not interested because we won’t pay what they are valued at. Why do I have to keep seeing their names linked to us.

If any player is going to make us stronger then you sign them. Especially if its a type of player we need. We need better attacking options. Other than the front 3 we have poor options
