Liverpool finally secured the signing of major summer transfer target Thiago Alcantara earlier this month.
The Reds had been linked to the Spaniard for several months, with Manchester United also keen admirers of the midfielder. However, at long last, Thiago is now officially a Liverpool player and has already made his Premier League debut.

The 29-year-old came onto the pitch against Chelsea after half-time and enjoyed his first win with his new club.
A recent update has emerged regarding the nature of Thiago’s move to Merseyside. In an interview with LFCTV (relayed via @LFCTransferRoom), the midfielder revealed that he had help from two former Reds before completing the transfer.
“More than football it was about that family aspect, how is the life [in Liverpool]. The city, where to go.
“I think people like Philippe Coutinho and Xabi Alonso helped me take this last step. It was really good.”

Loads of Kopites are loving this revelation and one has described the Brazilian ex-Red as the ‘gift that keeps on giving’. This is likely showing appreciation to the clause in Coutinho’s sale that will still see the club pocket an extra £4.4million if the £50.4million-valued playmaker wins the Champions League with Barcelona (via Liverpool ECHO).
