Liverpool fans have issued a challenge out to Aston Villa after their youth side easily despatched Napoli in the UEFA Youth League.
The young Reds won 7-0 and a hat-trick from rising start Curtis Jones set the youngsters on their way to all three points in the European youth competition.
With Jurgen Klopp’s side having to play two games in the space of 24 hours, U23s coach Neil Critchley has been placed in charge of their Carabao Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa, one day before the Reds are due to feature in the Club World Cup semi-final in the Middle East.
Due to the unique situation, Liverpool are due to play two separate teams within the timeframe, with a majority of youngsters expected to take to the field at Villa Park.
Supporters feared the worst for their domestic cup opposition and made their feelings clear on social media.
