Mohamed Salah has come in for criticism from some Liverpool fans for his apparent selfishness, in the wake of comments made by Sadio Mane after the Reds’ UEFA Super Cup success on Wednesday night.
Sports writer Dave O’Connell, who primarily focuses on Liverpool, communicated quotes from Mane highlighting the unselfish nature of Roberto Firmino via his Twitter account @DaveOCKOP.
Mane: "I think all the credit should go to my teammates, esp Bobby, he could have scored, he preferred to give it to me. I think this is how we play at LFC. We play for each other & always enjoy playing for each other & to give each other passes. I think that makes us strong."

Mane made a decisive contribution to Liverpool’s penalty shoot-out triumph over Chelsea in Istanbul in midweek, scoring both of the Reds’ goals as the game finished 2-2 after extra time.
Firmino provided the assist for the Senegal forward’s second goal against the Blues and he also set up one of Liverpool’s goals in last week’s 4-1 win against Norwich.
The Brazil international was the least prolific of Liverpool’s main front three last season, scoring 16 goals to Mane’s 26 and Salah’s 27, but he also chipped in with eight assists, three more than Mane.
While the Senegal man name-checked Firmino in his comments, he did not mention Salah explicitly and the Egypt forward was accused of being overly greedy at times last season, as reported by the Daily Star.
These Liverpool fans on Twitter responded to Mane’s comments, feeling that Salah could still learn to be a better team player for the Reds:
Hopefully Salah hears this

Of the front three, Bobby and Mane are the least selfish. Salah has a streak of selfishness in his play.

Salah has to play more with teammates too. I was I little concerned last couple of games with Salah's decisions
