Liverpool fans continue to celebrate the evergreen James Milner

Liverpool fans have an awful lot to shout about right now. Top of the league without ever really playing well and a host of new big money news signings yet to fully show their real quality, things are certainly on the up for the Reds.

In a season with so much expectation surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s side and the hugely expensive additions to have strengthened his cause, one of the most interesting narratives has been the form of the evergreen James Milner. Prior to the start of the campaign, the former England man could have been seen as expendable to a Liverpool midfield brimming with talent.

However, the 32-year-old has looked better than ever this season, keeping £40m man Fabinho out of the side. Milner looks a natural fit alongside the much younger and more industrious Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson or Georginio Wijnaldum, taking last season’s form into this one.
