Liverpool: Fans explode as Diogo Jota swoops PFA award

Many Liverpool fans reacted in delight over the news that forward Diogo Jota has won the PFA Player of the Month award for November.

The 24-year-old has been an instant hit for Jurgen Klopp’s side since his £41m move from Wolves in the summer.

Since then, Jota has gone on to score nine goals in his first 17 appearances in all competitions for the Reds (TransferMarkt) and has averaged 2.2 shots per game and an 83.2% pass success rate (Whoscored).

After his goals against Leicester City and Brighton last month, the PFA deemed him worthy enough to pick up their monthly accolade (via the club’s official website).

Jota pipped the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Harry Kane, Sergio Reguilon, Jamie Vardy and James Ward-Prowse to the award.

Unsurprisingly, supporters were delighted for Jota, with one fan even describing him as the new Fernando Torres at Liverpool.
