Liverpool fans have been expressing their gratitude for the services of midfielder James Milner at Anfield after he completed his 888th week as a professional footballer.
The former England international moved to Merseyside in 2015 after he moved from Manchester City in 2015 on a free transfer and was brought in under the Brendan Rodgers regime, who ended up losing his job months later.
He has been one of the survivors of the Rodgers’ reign and he continues to flourish in the midfield role that he was part of during Jurgen Klopp’s first match in charge of the Reds.

Milner was a significant part of the Reds’ success in Europe last season, after winning their sixth European crown by beating Spurs 2-0 in Madrid. He also helped his side accumulate 97 points in the Premier League last season but lost out on the title to his former side Manchester City.
Supporters were sending their messages of support to Milner and made their feelings clear on social media.
