Loads of Liverpool fans have been reflecting on an iconic goal from former star Philippe Coutinho, as Tuesday marks four years since his delightful chip over David De Gea in a Europa League clash at Old Trafford.
Say what you want about Coutinho, the Brazil international has scored some phenomenal goals during his career. And although he is best known for cutting in from the left flank and curling right-footed screamers into the top corner, it is one of his deftest finishes that has got fans drooling on Twitter this week.
The official UEFA Europa League account shared the footage of the Brazilian’s goal in the round of 16 second leg, a strike that effectively ended the tie as it put the Reds 3-1 in front with an away goal to boot. Coutinho pranced past Guillermo Varela before dinking a cool finish over De Gea, celebrating with compatriot Roberto Firmino in front of the Stretford End.
The £63m-rated (Transfermarkt) ace scored 54 goals in 201 games on Merseyside, and it seems plenty of fans have fond memories despite his acrimonious exit…
