Some Liverpool supporters have hailed Joel Matip as a star performer in the Reds’ 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea in the Premier League.
It was the biggest game of the season so far on Saturday, as Jurgen Klopp’s side took on the European champions at Anfield.
It was a thrilling encounter throughout, with Kai Havertz opening the scoring with a header, before Mohamed Salah equalised from the penalty spot after Reece James’ red card.

There were some fantastic and poor Liverpool displays on the day, with Virgil van Dijk coping expertly with Romelu Lukaku and Harvey Elliott catching the eye, while the likes of Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane struggled.
Matip was again bordering on faultless at the heart of the Reds’ defence, as he continues to show how good he can be when he is fit and available, completing 93 per cent of his passes and winning eight of 14 duels, per Sofascore.
