Regardless of what you think of James Milner, there is just no way you cannot respect the Liverpool man as one of the most impressive players in the Premier League in recent years. The ultimate utility man and a squad player that every club would die to have, he’s also proven to be a funnyman too and his recent comments about Lionel Messi are brilliant.

The former Manchester City man has a chance to finally win the Champions League after coming so close last season and if he does win it with the Reds then you can only laud him. However, to get to this season’s final the Reds had to overcome Barcelona, and Messi, in the semi-finals. You all know how it went for the Reds against the Catalan giants, but what you may not know about is Messi and Milner’s clash in the tunnel.
In an interview with The Daily Mail, Milner has revealed how the five-time Ballon d’Or winner was fuming with him at half-time at Anfield. At that time the Reds were only 1-0 up and still 3-1 down on aggregate, yet Messi was supposedly giving Milner both barrels. The word ‘burro’ is what Milner picked out of it, which translates to donkey, and as the Liverpool man has recalled this story he’s had the Reds in stitches.

All the Reds need now is to see their club lift the Champions League, and Milner will go from a cult hero to a legend at Anfield.
