Liverpool: Fans have their say on Jack Grealish

A number of Liverpool fans have been having their say on Twitter about the rumours suggesting that the club are interested in signing Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish this summer.

Italian media outlet Calciomercato reported the news a few days ago, however Anfield Watch shared a post on their social media page asking their followers what they felt about the speculation surrounding the midfielder.

In truth, the 24-year-old has arguably been The Villans’ stand out player this season and his WhoScored data helps to highlight that notion. According to the figures, Grealish has managed to achieve a match rating average of 7.33 over his 26 Premier League outings to date – the best of any of the Birmingham outfit’s squad.

The playmaker has also chipped in with seven goals and six assists for the Premier League strugglers, averaging 2.1 shots at goal and 2.7 key passes per game (per WhoScored). When comparing that to what Liverpool currently have in the midfield, none really come close in terms of attacking contributions as Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Georginio Wijnaldum and Jordan Henderson all have three goals to their name and do not get close to the Villa man’s contributions.

However, that being said, it appears many of the Anfield faithful are split with their opinions on him. Some are far from impressed with the links with Grealish, with some believing the Aston Villa midfielder is ‘overrated’, although a couple others believe he could be exactly what is needed in Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
