Liverpool fans heaped praise on goalkeeper Alisson Becker after new statistics were revealed about his recent performances.
The Brazil international was in the thick of the action during his side’s 2-1 victory against Monterrey in the Club World Cup, rewarding them with a final against Brazilian side Flamengo on Saturday.
Goals from Naby Keita and a 91st-minute winner from substitute Roberto Firmino won Jurgen Klopp’s side the game in what was a tricky encounter.
Liverpool’s defence was kept busy throughout the 90 minutes, with Alisson certainly the busier of the two shot-stoppers.
Twitter exploded when statistics were revealed about Alisson after the semi-final clash.
FBref.com, via Dan Kennett, confirmed that he has saved 38 out of 48 shots faced this season and managed to stop six out of seven shots on target against Monterrey.
