The Senegal winger‘s double against the Magpies has taken him to six goals from as many matches so far this season, the most of anyone in the Reds’ squad in the early weeks of 2019/20.
While current Liverpool winger Mane has begun the season in fine goalscoring form, so too has a former Reds wide attacker at another Premier League club.
Manchester City’s Raheem Sterling has started the 2019/20 Premier League campaign with five goals from his first four games prior to the September international break, during which he scored twice for England and provided a hat-trick of assists against Kosovo.
Former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher posted the simple question “Mane or Sterling” on his Twitter account @Carra23 after the Senegal forward’s two-goal display against Newcastle.
