Liverpool: Fans laud Mohamed Salah after Red Bull Salzburg brace

Many Liverpool fans were delighted with the performance of Mohamed Salah in their UEFA Champions League win against Red Bull Salzburg on Wednesday.

It was a strange night at Anfield as the Reds raced into a 3-0 lead, with Salah scoring the third of those goals, but they were pegged back to 3-3 by determined opponents.

The Egyptian proved to be the match-winner, however, keeping his cool when the ball fell to him in the penalty area to score his second of the game and make it 4-3.

As well as his goals, Salah also completed six dribbles, played three accurate crosses, one key pass and made one successful tackle on a busy evening which saw him receive a match rating of 8.90 (via WhoScored).

The 27-year-old has become a key player for the Reds, having scored 77 goals and provided 32 assists in just 115 appearances since arriving in 2017 (via TransferMarkt). He has already won two Golden Boot awards in the Premier League and has helped his club win silverware in the form of last season’s Champions League, in which he scored in the final.

He certainly proved his importance to the side on Wednesday with a match-winning display against Salzburg, and plenty of Liverpool fans have been quick to heap praise on the Egyptian international.
