The Senegal international got on the scoresheet, complementing a brace from Divock Origi and goals from Xherdan Shaqiri and Georginio Wijnaldum to encapsulate a brilliant attacking display from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Mane, 27, finished fourth place in the Ballon d’Or voting – a decision which his fellow countryman Cheikhou Kouyate took a great exception to. Even winner Lionel Messi admitted that he voted for him.
His statistics from the game were impressive. Mane conjured up two assists, won nine duels and had four successful dribbles during the 90 minutes, illustrating how effective his play was (via FotMob).
