Plenty of Liverpool fans have been rushing to laud Sadio Mane after comments he made about the importance of helping people living in poverty in his native Senegal.

Ghanaian media outlet NsemWoha.com reported quotes from the 27-year-old Liverpool forward [via Empire of the Kop] in which he said: “Why would I want 10 Ferraris, 20 diamond watches, or two planes? What will these objects do for me and for the world?
“I was hungry, and I had to work in the field; I survived hard times, played football barefooted, I did not have an education and many other things, but today with what I win thanks to football, I can help my people.”
Mane, who earns £150,000 a week according to This Is Anfield, has previously made several philanthropic contributions around Liverpool and to communities in Africa.
According to Empire of the Kop, he has donated old Liverpool shirts to children in countries such as Malawi and has funded numerous projects, including schools and houses, in the Senegalese village where he grew up.
Empire of the Kop added that he has helped with cleaning his local mosque in Liverpool and claimed that he makes other charitable and voluntary contributions which haven’t been publicised.
