Pep Guardiola has taken a swipe at Liverpool whilst discussing who will win this season’s Player of the Year award.
The Manchester City boss has claimed awards like the prestigious Player of the Year accolade is ‘always for Liverpool’. Speaking to BBC Radio Manchester, Guardiola has admitted he doesn’t think a player outside of the Merseyside outfit will win the award this season (via @DaveOCKOP).

“The winner will be from Liverpool. When we won the Premier League the Liverpool players won,” the Spaniard said. “When they win the League, I’m pretty sure they are going to win the Player of the Season. These awards are always for Liverpool.”
The Reds have enjoyed a runaway season in which they finally got their hands on their first top flight win in 30 years. Jurgen Klopp and his men celebrated the lifting of their first ever Premier League trophy at Anfield on Wednesday.
Loads of Kopites have slammed Guardiola’s comments and are criticising him for being ‘so petulant’ in defeat whilst another has said he has ‘completely lost it now’.
