Liverpool: Fans mock Raheem Sterling and Manchester City after next season comments

Loads of Liverpool fans have been mocking ex-player Raheem Sterling and his club after the 25-year-old fired a warning.

Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, Sterling was open about Manchester City’s drop in level in the Premier League this term. However, the England international was adamant that his side would be back next season as he sent out a message to his former side.

“We won the league twice in a row. Liverpool are winning, leading at this point in time,” Sterling told Sky Sports when asked if this is the beginning of an era of dominance for Liverpool. “But I’m pretty sure that come the end of the season our boys will go away and come back again very hurt if they do pick up the league, and we will be up and running for next season for sure.

“[It will be] a massive reaction.”

The above has not gone down well on Liverpool Twitter, with some supporters quick to mock the Manchester City winger for already looking towards next season. Clearly disgruntled, one fan even fired back by saying Sterling and City will probably be in League 2 next season in reference to the club’s FFP drama. Another, meanwhile, labelled him “cocky”.
