Liverpool fans on social media keen on Martial from United

The silly season is just weeks from being over and whilst for a lot of fans that’s a positive thing, some fans have been basking in the transfer window. It’s well-known fact that Anthony Martial wants an Old Trafford exit this summer and some mischevious Liverpool fans would love to Jurgen Klopp put in a bid for the wantaway.

Liverpool should put a bid in for Martial. Imagine the fume. And imagine how good he'd be under Klopp.

Before any fans get their hopes up, this is a move that is extremely unlikely. Not many players have played for both United and Liverpool in their careers and the last time a player was transferred between the clubs was way back in 1964. If Martial was to break that record it would be a bold statement and would cement himself a place in every Manchester United fan’s bad books.

The one thing you can’t deny is that Liverpool would be a much better fir for Martial than United is. Jurgen Klopp actively develops young players and the raw talent that Martial possesses would become dangerous under Klopp. Jose Mourinho fails to have the same edge with young players and has seen Martial’s progress as a player greatly slowed down since his appointment back in 2016. That, though, would never have been allowed to happen with Klopp at the helm.
