Last night saw Daniel Sturridge notch his third goal of the season at Anfield as his side were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea in the Carabao Cup. Meanwhile, in Milton Keyes, Tottenham were busy taking on Watford in the same competition and they eventually won on penalties. After both games had finished, the Reds took to Twitter to claim Sturridge is better than Spurs’ marksman Harry Kane.
Sturridge’s three goals this season is equal to the number scored by Kane. The Liverpool frontman has found the net in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Cup whilst Kane’s trio of goals have all come in the Premier League. At the moment the Reds will be delighted that Sturridge is keeping pace with his countryman but that is bound to end soon as Kane will be looking to kick into gear sooner or later.
There certainly is an argument to suggest that if Sturridge could stay fit and have a couple of seasons behind him where he gets game time every week then he could be on the same level or at least near the same level that Kane operates at. Unfortunately, we’ll never know whether or not he’d make the grade seeing as his constant injury problems have plagued his career. Meanwhile, Kane is four years younger and has 36 more Premier League goals than his fellow striker at Anfield.
You can read The Kopites’ verdict on Sturridge here:
Kane wouldn’t start for England if Sturridge had not of had his injury issues. Also he’d probably be around 200 PL goals

Sturridge man what a finish. Time to dislodge Kane as England’s first choice striker.

When fit and in form: Sturridge > Kane. Don’t @ me.

A fit Sturridge is better than a fit Kane

A million per cent believe this
Sturridge does alot more than Kane can but I wouldn’t expect a spurs fan to agree obviously so that’s cool
His problem is injuries not ability

The Reds genuinely believe that Sturridge is better than Kane, it’s just a matter of time before the England captain proves them to be very wrong.
