A lot of Premier League teams are missing some of their best players at the moment and they could be heading into their opening fixtures without them, seeing as a lot of players are still enjoying their holidays after the World Cup. Dejan Lovren is one of them and fans have been sharing their opinions on the Croatian defender.

Lovren is a strange one to describe. His rashness and ability to throw a game away obviously make him a worrying prospect for Liverpool fans, However, when he’s on his game, him and Virgil van Dijk are a rock of a partnership that even the best attacking forces struggle to break down. This makes him a tough one to understand, a lot of Liverpool fans feel more comfortable with Lovren than without him.
Saying this, before van Dijk arrived, Lovren looked a shambles. The defender had been hooked after just 30 minutes against Harry Kane at Wembley having been ripped apart by the Tottenham man and it looked like he might not recover mentally from his mistakes and the abuse he received from his own fans because of it. Fortunately, he’s now recovered from that day and he’s got a World Cup runners-up medal to his name now.

As you can see, despite the fact he backs his own ability, not all of the Liverpool fans are convinced by Lovren talents.
