On the weekend during Liverpool’s 0-0 home draw with Manchester City, James Milner became the lastest midfielder at the club to join the treatment room. Alongside the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana, The Reds are thin on the ground at the moment in the middle. In response to his injury and these Henderson comments, The Reds have been calling for an Ox return.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s dynamism last season made Liverpool such a threat. Whilst teams everywhere prepared to try and contain Jurgen Klopp’s devastating front three, Chamberlain went about his business in midfield, driving at his opposition and creating space for his teammates. Now that he’s not there to do that, the fans are starting to realise just how important he is in Klopp’s system.
In his three homes games against Manchester City last season, the Ox scored twice and registered an assist and without him in the team, there’s a serious argument to say that Pep Guardiola’s City would have overcome the Reds. That argument is only strengthened by the fact over the weekend The Kopites failed to beat the Champions when the midfielder wasn’t in the squad. Liverpool’s next game against The Citizens comes on January 1st and the Reds will be desperate to have Oxlade-Chamberlain back for then, but the sooner he’s available the better.

#StayStrong we miss you Ox can’t wait to see you back playing, I bet you’ve missed the #KloppHugs

He really can't get back quick enough. Missing his driving run from midfield.

As far as the Liverpool fans are concerned, getting Chamberlain back to fitness is a top priority and they’ll be desperate to see him back in the first team as soon as possible.
