When the news became public that Emer Can would be leaving Liverpool on a free transfer for Juventus last season, the Reds were far from happy. However, fast-forward 12 months and Can is struggling in Italy whilst Jurgen Klopp’s side are top of the Premier League, so the Kopites have no sympathy for the German midfielder.
Not going well for Emre in Italy https://t.co/sv8rEUAhP2

Anfield has seen a number of players depart over the last few seasons with the view that the grass will be greener on the other side. Philippe Coutinho’s switch to Barcelona being one of the main ones. However, both Coutinho and Can have suffered since they departed Merseyside, and, if given the chances, they’d both likely jump at a chance to return to the club as Klopp’s side at the top of the Premier League.
The recent struggles that Can has had in Italy come because of his lack of versatility. Maxmilliano Allgrei signed the player on the hope that he could use him as a defensive midfielder, however, the Italian gaffer has now sensationally come out and claimed that his summer signing isn’t ready to play the position that he signed him for, and you can read his comments in The Evening Standard.
You can read the Reds’ unsympathetic verdict on Can’s situation here:
Who cares? Average player with average skills.

He was an ok player. Far too slow to be a top player.

Weird one Can. Average 5/10 player who scored a wonder goal once.

That's because he's crap. Was never good enough to play for us.

Would not get in our team now.

The Reds have little sympathy for Can and wouldn’t take him back now after the way he left.
