Liverpool fans will be delighted with the way things are going this season, and many of them won’t have even thought about the summer transfer window. However, the window opens in just 98 days and the rumours are trickling in, with this one from TEAMtalk claiming that the Reds hold an interest in Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar.

You can tell that very few Liverpool fans have seen the impressive Slovakian defender play going off the fact that they don’t seem at all keen to swoop for the 24-year-old. However, as the report claims that all of the Premier League’s top six are vying for his signature, Liverpool fans could soon learn that they missed out on an absolute gem should the Inter star end up playing for one of their rivals.
One of the factors behind the Kopites reluctance to call for the Slovakian is his nationality. The last Slovakian defender that graced Anfield left one hell of a mark. Martin Skrtel may be highly regarded in his home country, but at Anfield, he was a wrecking ball that did about as much harm as he did good. Taking that into account and considering the calming influence of Virgil van Dijk and the classy Joe Gomez, who can really blame them for wanting to stick with what they’ve got in summer.

Be it because the Reds want Kalidou Koulibaly instead, would rather stick with Joe Gomez or don’t want another Martin Skrtel, they’re all pretty decided that Milan Skriniar isn’t for them this summer.
